World’s largest chain of fast food restaurants that has a unique logo cannot miss one raising the brow and say-I’m lovin’ it !
McDonald’s logo idea was initiated in 1953 by Dick and Mac McDonald upon getting inspired by the arch shaped signs on either sides of their ‘walk-up hamburger stand’. In 1962, McDonalds brand was given a stylish logo showcasing the ‘M shaped Golden Arch’ that prevails till date. This logo was smartly created by Jim Schindler to reflect the strong corporate and brand identity of McDonalds. In 1968 the “McDonald’s” name was added as a feather of pride to the logo.
McDonald’s logo has always been debated upon, despite its simplicity and global acclaim. The ‘Golden Arches’ is lucky enough to have many interpretations. Thomas L. Friedman seems very confident with his findings. He wrote about ‘The Golden Arches Theory of Conflict Prevention’ where he claimed that no two countries with a McDonald's franchise had ever been at loggerheads with each other. Well, the reaction of many was nothing great but a scorn. Nevertheless, in the recent past, he has reinstated his theory in his Dell Theory of Conflict Prevention but in a reformed manner- ‘No two countries will ever fight a war against each other as long as they are both part of the same global supply chain’-surely a polished interpretation.
Despite unending research and findings, the Golden Arches holds a pleasing persona globally and McDonalds happily reign with a promise of quality and consistency. This leading global foodservice retailer is known to serve the favorite food delights to savor the taste buds of millions - World Famous French Fries, Quarter Pounder, Chicken McNuggets, Egg McMuffin and Big Mac and lots more.
Why wonder when one says, I’m lovin it !
